Parkshore Piranhas Swim Team

Members are always guaranteed a spot on swim team! We cannot wait to start the 2024 season with Coach Joe!!! Information coming soon on all the amazing changes to swim team.
PKS is known throughout the league for their charisma and team spirit. The Parkshore Piranhas Swim Team is open to pool members ages 5 to 18.
Costs for the swim team are $120 for the first child, and $60 for each additional child from the same family. To join the swim team, your family must also have a current family membership at Parkshore Pool.
This page will be updated frequently, especially as we approach the 2024 swim season and obtain the latest information from the CCAA. This page contains some – but not all – of the details you’ll need for the summer.
This year, the swim groups will be divided to keep specific ages together, regardless of skill levels. Any potential exceptions must be approved by Coach Joe.

June 22nd – Time Trials #2. 8 AM
June 25th – Meet @Hobcaw Yacht Club
June 28th – Last day for 6 and unders
June 29th – City Meet Heat Sheet Announcement and Last day for non-city swimmers

The Afternoon Practice Schedule (M-F) for the whole season is below. Please note that the ages of your child are as of June 1st. For example, if your child turns 7 years old on June 3rd, then he/she will still be classified in the 6 and under age group because the age on June 1st was still 6. This goes for both practice and meets.
4:30-5:00: ALL 6 and Unders, new 7 year olds
5:00-5:30: Returning 7 year olds, ALL 8 year olds, NEW 9 year olds
5:30-6:15: Returning 9 year olds, ALL 10 year olds, NEW 11-12s
6:15-7:15: Returning 11-12s, ALL 13 and up
Saturday Morning Practices (May 18th-July 6th)
8:00-9:00: 7-10s
9:00-10:00: 11 and up
Weekday Morning Practices (June 10th-July 5th):
7:00-8:15: 7 and up
**-6 and unders do NOT have morning practice
On Meet Days, 7-10 year olds will practice from 7:00-7:30 and 11 and ups will practice from 7:45-8:15. Coach Joe will announce the heat sheet of the upcoming meet to the entire team from 7:30-7:45.
Meet Schedule:
Meets will almost always be on Tuesdays or Thursdays beginning the week of Memorial Day through the week on June 24th. Warmups will start at 5:30PM, the meet starts at 6:30 and generally last until about 9:00-9:30. Some weeks there will only be one meet, some weeks there will be two. Some meets will be at PKS, while others will be at other pools in the tri-county area. We will update this website when we have specific details on the meet schedule.
When we have two meets in one week, there will be NO PRACTICE on the Wednesday Morning in between them. This is to recharge the batteries and have a small break to prep for the next meet.
Reminder: Children must be 13+ years old to remain at the pool unaccompanied by a parent or guardian (older siblings under 18 do not count).
What about gear? The STMs (swim team moms) and coaching staff will give you all the information you need to know during our kickoff meeting -TBD
Weather
If cancellation or changes of any of our scheduled events occur, Coach Joe will send an update. We will let you know more closer to the season start. At this point, we will be trying out the remind app this year. In order to sign up, send @pks2024 to 81010 and this will prompt you to sign up. Then, if there are any cancellations or announcements you should receive a notification.
